Long time no read! :)

Howdy!

Sorry that I haven't posted in a long time!  It has been  nuts around here lately! I'll list them off for you.

1. My grandma was in the hospital all week last week because of her appendix burst.(She's home now recovering please keep praying for her! Thanks!)

2. Since grandma was in the hospital we wanted mom to take care of her there. So with mom gone almost all week, I was the top woman of the house. Which was fine and fun until it was time to feed my family of hungry wolves;They are sooooooooooooo picky! (But they did really good!)

3. It's been STINKING COLD!!!

4.Horses water freezes all day, so I have to haul water at night.  My dad and/or siblings are nice enough to do it for me in the morning. (It's not so bad but when you have a horse that plays with her  water after making you think that she's still thirsty, is no fun! And  a donkey that brays and brays if your late.)

4.One word.......................................... Algebra.

The final one:

5. Siblings   But hey, There great! Some of the time. ;)

 Yeah, that's the downfall lately but I have done some good things too!

So lets look at................................................

                              Johnston's Riverview News!!!!!
                              ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
                                                        Lately on Johnston's farm...
                                                        =====================
Reporter Grace: So what's new on the Johnston's Riverview Farm?
Farmer Grace: Well, a few weeks ago we bought a jersey. She is about to calf any time now her name is Molly Jane. Also, just today we sold two cows and my dad came home with another jersey girl. She's milking right now though she doesn't have a name yet.
RG: Are you expecting any claves this spring?
FG: No, all the cows are calving in the summer maybe late spring. Our pigs though are going to have piglets soon!
RG: Fun, do you do anything to the piglets or calves when they are born in the dead of winter? How do you prepare for that?
FG: For the piglets we set up a heat lamp so right when they are born we can put them under it. We also make sure they have a lot of hay. That way they can burrow under it to keep warm. With calves we set up a pen in the barn and when they are born we just bring them in or we pen the momma up when we think that she's close.
RG: What do you do when you don't see the baby be born and it's below zero?
FG: My dad checks on that cow right before he goes to bed and right away in the morning, but sometimes  they have them when we don't know. We bring the calf in the barn, if it's still wet we blow dry it or dry it with a towel. My dad has brought a calf into the bathtub because it was so cold!
Reporter Grace: I'm Reporter Grace and thank you Farmer Grace for being with us here.  And Thank you all for tuning in.
